- Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year.
We are celebrating this day by posting a photo we have taken or a painting we have made of our favorite natural features, such as crashing waves, ancient trees, blooming flowers, animals, or stunning sunsets or anything else we love from our magnificent planet. Be sure to include the location where the photo was taken or a short presentation in the text of your post.
